The company produces innovative software titles for sophisticated computers, including the Apple Newton Personal Digital Assistant.
Sine of the Times officially formed in November 1995 by Ashish Mishra, and Mike Jacobsen. Robert Lee joined the company in May of 1997. Rachel Jacobsen came on in June of 1997. The company is a spin-off of Lunar Engineering, formed by Ashish in the summer of 1994.
Mike, Chief Executive Officer & Partner, has a degree in Computer Science from BYU in Provo, Utah. Mike among other things, assists in software development, oversees final production, the daily operation of the company, manages the web-site, and works with customers to ensure they are satisified.
Ashish, Vice President of Engineering & Partner, B.ASc. EE, has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, located in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. His position involves primarily research, development, and production. When he's not working on the Newton, Ashish teaches labs at the University of Waterloo.
Robert, Senior Software Engineer & Partner, a long time evangelist of the Newton, joined the company in May, 1997. He directs his strong software skills and enthusiasm to producing quality applications for the Newton, as well as assisting customers.
Rachel, General Manager, has a degree in Computer Science from BYU also. She handles the day to day operations of the business, including customer service, and sales.
The company originated and is run on the Internet! Mike, Ashish, & Robert have never met in person. They have however, successfully developed innovative, robust, and well-known applications for the Newton.
Common goals, integrity, and a passion for innovation, have developed an organization which produces sophisticated, integrated, and easy-to-use software, all of which are the driving forces behind Sine of the Times.
